Time tells no lies: The tragedy of Samawah

24/7/2019 11:09:00

Specialized teams opened a mass grave in Samawah desert containing the remains of 82 Kurdish citizens; mostly women aged 40 and children between one and two.

The infamous Anfal campaigns, which began during the rule of the fallen Ba’athist regime, took place in several stages in 1987 and resulted in the martyrdom of more than 182,000 Kurdish citizens, for no other reason than their identity as a Kurd, one of the most organized operations by a head of state and not against other countries, it is one of the most cruel systematic operations organized by a head of state, not against other countries, but against the children of those who are supposed to be his people.

Dozens of mass graves are scattered on the Iraqi map where Kurdish children and women are buried just for being Kurds without any guilt or committing any crime.

Samawah’s watch entered the Kurdish sacrifice dictionary and which stopped ticking at 9, a royal number which remained motionless for 31 years to return to work on Tuesday, 2019/7/23, in Samawah.
