The 7th International Cartoon Forum opened in Cairo on July 7th. The festival will be held in the historic palace of Prince Taz. The festival will last two weeks from July 7 to 21, and this international artistic event has been carried out in coordination and cooperation between various official, artistic and cartoonist bodies in Egypt, including the Ministry of Culture and the Egyptian Caricature Society.

Handren Khoshnaw was one of the participants in this artistic event. He is a Kurdish artist born in Erbil. He has many annual participation in these international events held in the countries of the world. The artist Handren Khoshnaw talked about his artistic activity to PUKmedia: This year's forum is held annually for the sixth year in a row, and most of them participated after sending me a message to participate with friends and fellow artists and teach me the subject of the forum. This year, the forum's president is the Egyptian artist Jum'a Farhat, the general coordinator is an artist, Fauzi Mursi, and the technical committee for the acception and rejection of the works sent to the forum are professors Mohamed Affat, Emad Jum'a, Samir Abdulghani, Faruq Mursi, and Mohamed Hamdy.

So far as I know, 512 cartoonists from 71 countries have done cartoon  works of up to 1,800 work, but after inspection  by the Technical Committee, 420 works were accepted for only 345 artists, including (100) caricatures of the late Egyptian Nobel laureate (Naguib Mohafaz).

An artist, Handren Khoshnaw said about the program of work in the forum : This year's  program was rich in works of art, the Organizing Committee decided on the subject of the axis as "the cartoon is the culture, books and cinema" ... etc, and honoring the great writer Najib Mahfuz, despite of showing the works and experiences of some foreign artists of caricature  such as Ars from Cuba, Tabata from Japan, Dubrovsky from Poland, an exhibition honoring the Chinese philosopher Lao Tezza, a children's cartoon exhibition, and other events.

They told us that about 100 works of Najib Mahfuz will be exhibited continuously in the museum of Najib Mahfuz, which will open a few days later. I am very happy that my work has been presented in the forum alongside the works of other artists in this artistic and historical event at the same time. This encourages me to continue and look for progress in the art of caricature and cartoon.
