Kurdistan Region, Iraq announce first day of Eid al-Fitr

The Kurdistan Regional Government's Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs on Tuesday announced the first day of Eid al-Fitr.


The Minister of Religious Endowments, Peshtiwan Sadiq, said in a statement that the committee to monitor the sighting of the crescent of the month of Ramadan has not proven that it has seen the crescent with the naked eye.


He added, "Thus, we announce tomorrow, Wednesday, the completion of Ramadan, and Thursday, the first day of the month of Shawwal and the blessed Eid al-Fitr."
