The press family in Iraq on June 15, 2021 recalled the 152nd anniversary of the establishment of the first newspaper named "Zora" on June 15, 1869, to make this day a national holiday for the Iraqi press.

The Iraqi Journalists Syndicate was founded in 1959 by a group of giants of journalists in Iraq, led by the late great poet Mohammed Mahdi al-Jawahiri and the late President Mam Jalal, who was one of its active members, where the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate maintains a timeless professional record for him because he was known for his commitment and respect for the professional values and standards established for him and his fellow journalists from the first generation, which was the starting point for the union and continue its national and professional approach.

President Mam Jalal was elected at the time as captain of Iraqi journalists, but he stepped down from his post to the late Mohammed Mahdi al-Jawahiri, and Mohammed al-Saadoun was elected deputy to the deputy of the union and (Jalal Talabani, Abdul Rahim Sharif, Lotfi Bakrsadhi, Mohammed al-Jundi, Fadhel Mahdi and Mohammed Shaukat) members of the union, while faiq Bati, Ali Al-Jalil, Mohammed Karim and Menem al-Jader won the membership of the control committee.

While congratulating the press family in Iraq and Kurdistan on the 152nd anniversary of The Iraqi Press Day, we hope to invest the climates of freedom and democracy in a spirit of high responsibility and to be keen to spread the concepts of tolerance and harmony between the various components of its Kurds, Arabs, Turkmens and Kludashuriha.
