Demonstrations in Sulaimani calls on the international community to stop the Turkish attacks on Kurdish Afrin

Hundreds of citizens and supporters of the Kurdish parties in demonstrations in the city of Sulaimani on Sunday, condemning the Turkish attacks on the Kurdish city of Afrin, Syria.

On January 21, 2018, the demonstrators chanted slogans against the policies of the Turkish government in the popular demonstrations in which hundreds of citizens participated in the city of Sulaimani, calling on the international community to put an end to the violations and abuses committed by the Turkish authorities against the Kurdish areas in Syria.

Participants in the demonstrations also appealed to the United States to support and protect the city of Afrin and to protect it from the threats and military attacks launched by the Turkish forces on this city.

The Turkish army launched a military operation under the name of "olive branch" on the Kurdish city of Afrin, amid warnings of the possibility of expansion of the circle of military conflicts between the countries of the region, especially that the Turkish attacks received broad regional and international rejection to consider that the Turkish government violated the sovereignty of another country.
