Spring lizard in the Kurdistan Region

Lizards are a widespread group of squamate reptiles, with over 6,000 species, ranging across all continents except Antarctica, as well as most oceanic island chains. These beautiful creatures are part of the amazing nature of the Kurdistan Region. The spring lizards show themselves during the spring season as they hibernate during winter.
