US Ambassador to United Nations concerns over Turkish Military attacks on Makhmour Camp

US Consulate General in Erbil in a social platform post announced that the US ambassador to the United Nations emphasized to Turkish officials that any attack targeting civilians in the Makhmour camp would a violation of international and humanitarian law.
The text of the post was as follows:
"Yesterday, I made clear to Turkish officials that any attack targeting civilians at Makhmour refugee camp would be a violation of international and humanitarian law. I’m deeply concerned about violence near the camp today and call on all sides to respect the rights of refugees."
