Iraq signs a new contract with Pfizer Company to supply 12 million doses of Covid vaccine

The Iraq Ministry of Health, on Wednesday, confirmed the agreement to supply 12 million doses of the Coronavirus Pfizer vaccine indicating that there is storage capacity in all governorates to deal with new contracts.

 

The Director-General of Public Health at the Ministry, Riyadh Abdul-Amir Al-Halfi, said in a statement, "The Ministry of Health has signed new contracts with Pfizer Company, the manufacturer of the Coronavirus vaccine, to purchase 12 million doses to be prepared during the current year,".

 

Noting that Iraq will be equipped at the end of this month with 500,000 A dose and the rest of the doses will arrive successively in the coming months.

 

He added, "The ministry has good storage capacity and will be enhanced in the coming weeks with the arrival of refrigerators with a very low freezing degree - 80 from the World Health Organization,".

 

In noteworthy, Half of the agreed quantity will arrive within 3 months, while the last half will be before the end of the year.
