Bafel Talabani stresses the need for cooperation between KRG, Iraq

Iraq - Baghdad, within the framework of his visit to Baghdad, Bafel Talabani, Co-president of Patriotic Union of Kurdistan along with his accompanying delegation on Wednesday met with Dr. Adel Abdul-Mahdi, the prominent Iraqi politician and former federal prime minister.
During a meeting, the delegation of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan expressed its appreciation for the role of Adel Abdul-Mahdi as a prominent figure, a close friend of the Kurdish people and the late president of the nation, Mam Jalal, and an advocate for the achievement of Kurdish rights and the peaceful treatment of problems.
The delegation of the Patriotic Union stressed the need for cooperation and a common national vision and the continuation of constructive dialogues between the Kurdistan Region and Iraq to address the outstanding problems in a fundamental way in accordance with the constitution and the public interest.
Bafel Talabani expressed his appreciation for the positions of Iraqi leaders and political forces for their understanding of the rights of the Kurds and their participation in achieving the demands of the Kurds.
He added, "The Renewed Patriotic Union continues the wise path of President Mam Jalal. The visions shared with the Iraqi forces on local, national, and important issues on the basis of dialogue and mutual understanding. We reject in all forms the policy of marginalization and rejection of dialogue. We may compromise partisanly for the rights of our people and the strengthening of the entity of the Kurdistan Region, but we will not compromise the rights and interests of our people and their land."
