Qubad Talabani meets US Consul General in Kurdistan Region

Qubad Talabani, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, on Wednesday met with an U.S. delegation headed by Rob Waller, the US Consul General in the Kurdistan Region, to discuss a mechanism for developing the private sector, and several other issues of common interest.

During the meeting, the two sides agreed on the importance of paying attention to the private sector in the Kurdistan Region and the government's preparations to provide all facilities for investment in Kurdistan Region.

The meeting also discussed the necessity of reforms in the banking system in the Kurdistan Region, and organizing it in a way that supports investors and the private sector.

In another aspect of the meeting, the necessity of implementing the 2021 Iraqi financial budget law was discussed, and the US Consul General in Erbil renewed his support for the efforts of the Kurdistan Regional Government in implementing the provisions of the law.
