Iraqi President Salih confirmed that Iraq pursues a balanced policy that paves the ways to defuse the crisis and calm the tensions in the region.

Iraq's privileged geographical position called Mesopotamia from ancient times in addition to the recent support for its security and sovereignty is a pivotal key and a starting point to address the environmental challenges as well as tackling the climate change and desertification and work towards promoting the use of clean energy, President Salih said, while the importance of adopting sustainable management of water resources is also required.  And these could be done through working together for having regional and international common systems, he added.

They confirmed that the US is committed to fighting terror, building peace and strengthening Iraqi economy, with focus on the need to have further work and joint coordination where there could be further dialogue on strategic issues of common interest across all the fields in ways that best serve the interests of both peoples.
