On Wednesday morning, Russian forces conducted a joint patrol with the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria's Internal Security Forces (Asayish) in al-Tai neighborhood, in southern Qamishli in northeastern Syria, with two Russian helicopters flying over the city.

For about a week, the neighborhood witnessed violent clashes between the Asayish and the “National Defense” groups loyal to the Damascus government, which ended with the Asayish taking control of the neighborhood south of Qamishli.

Since the expulsion of the NDF, Russian military police have been conducting two joint patrols a day with the Asayish to ensure the validity of the armistice agreement and closely follow the conditions of the neighborhood.

On Sunday, the Asayish announced the reaching of a permanent ceasefire under the auspices of the Syrian Democratic Forces and Russian military forces.

In a statement on Monday, the Asayish said that it is working to restore all schools which the NDF turned into headquarters and military points for their members.

The neighborhood is under the control of the Asayish, who control Hay al-Tai Roundabout on the southern Belt Road in conjunction with the Syrian government forces.

Since Tuesday, the Internal Security Forces have been working to secure the needs of the neighborhood’s residents, such as bread, fuel, and electricity, after the return of most of the residents who fled the neighborhood due to the clashes near their homes.

The municipality’s workshops and the energy directorates of the Autonomous Administration began providing cleaning and electricity services in the neighborhood with the continued return of residents.

The Kurdish Red Crescent organization also established a medical point at al-Wehda Roundabout at the entrance to the neighborhood to receive patients who need urgent health care.
