The co-leader of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Lahur Sheikh Jangi congratulated the Kurdistan Students’ Association on the occasion of its 45th anniversary.

The following is the text of the congratulations:

Esteemed Secretary and members of Kurdistan Students’ Association, on the 45th anniversary of your founding, I extend my warmest congratulations, and offer you the most beautiful bouquet of flowers, hoping that this Students’ Association of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan will continue its professional and democratic struggle, and will be a bright lantern for scientific progress and enhancing progressive ideology and democracy. From the beginning, the aim of founding this Students’ Association was to motivate Kurdistan’s students’ struggle and revive the revolutionary soul among the students to be able to confront the dictatorial regime. The Kurdistan Students’ Association has managed to gain magnificent and great achievements for its people and homeland.

In this new stage, and especially after the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan’s Congress, the Kurdistan Students' Association must continue its important and apparent role and continue its professional efforts to bring about a system of co-education, learning, furthering the establishment of the democratic principles and defending the rights of all students without discrimination. I will take this opportunity to encourage you to work with a multi-party agenda, a new blueprint, and in a modern way to achieve what your group is struggling for, and for it to be in a way that serves the students' legitimate demands. We, in the Presidency of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, will help and support you.

I extend my congratulations on the anniversary of the establishment of the Kurdistan Students’ Association. I salute all the students who died through this organization in the name of salvation and democracy.
