An unknown group blew up an oil well on Saturday in the Bay Hassan field near Dibis District in Kirkuk governorate.
An informed source said during an exclusive statement to PUKmedia that an unknown group blew up an oil well in the Bay Hassan field in Dibis district.
The source indicated that the targeted well is within the scope of protection of forces formed from the people of the region within the protection contracts concluded by the Ministry of Oil with residents of the areas near the oil wells.
The Kirkuk governorate includes the oil wells "Bay Hassan", "Baba Gurgur", and "Havana", which produce more than 370 thousand barrels per day.
Although no one has claimed responsibility for this attack but oil wells in Iraq have been exposed to numerous attacks by ISIS militants many times before.
In 2017, Iraq declared victory over "ISIS" by regaining all of its lands, which were estimated at about a third of the country, which ISIS invaded in the summer of 2014, but the latter still maintains sleeper cells in large areas of the country and launches insurgency attacks between different periods in attempts to regain their strength.
