Currency exchange rates in the Kurdistan Region

On Wednesday, the price of 100 USD in the currency markets in the Kurdistan Region reached 149,000 dinars.

 

The prices of the remaining currencies against the Iraqi dinar are as follows:

 

100 Euro = 177.000  dinars.

 

100 pounds = 204.000  dinars.

 

100 Turkish lira = 18.500 dinars. 

 

100,000 Iranian tomans = 6.000 dinars.

 

Dollar prices has been rising sharply in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq since Tuesday and economist told PUKmedia that the cause of this hike in dollar prices is the demand of the Iraqi Central Bank's for rising dollar prices, the statements of government officials and parliamentarians, the arrival of Ramadan, the increase in the demand of citizens to buy goods and food, and the large number of dollars used outside to import goods are among the most important reasons for the rise in the dollar price at the moment.

 

Currency exchange rates against the dinar has hiked in Iraq since late 2020 due to the Iraqi government's conducted a currency devaluation by almost 20% in the 2021 budget to address the financial crisis in the country.
