Lahur Sheikh Jangi congratulates Yazidis on Red Wednesday Feast

PUK Co-President, Lahur Sheikh Jangi in a statement late on Tuesday evening congratulated the Yazidis on the occasion of the Yazidi New Year, hoping it will bring peace and tranquility to all.

 

The following is the full text of the statement:

 

On the eve of the Yazidi New Year (Red Wednesday), I extend my congratulations to all the Yazidi brothers and sisters in the Kurdistan Region, Iraq and the world. I hope that this feast, which is in the middle of spring and the month of renewal, will bring peace and tranquility to all. 

 

May this be a feast for strengthening the relationship between coexistence and reconciliation amongst the religious structures within the country. May God bring more light and joy to the earth and the hearts of our people and give comfort to our spirits. I ask the Great Lord to accept the prayers and fasting of the Yazidi brothers and sisters, and to give them happiness, peace, and love on this occasion.
