Qubad Talabani discusses US-Iraq strategic dialogue with US ambassador to Iraq

Deputy Prime Minister of Kurdistan Qubad Talabani met Monday, April 12, 2021, with US Ambassador to Iraq Mathew Tueller and discussed the US-Iraqi strategic dialogue.

 

During the meeting, the two sides agreed to continue the strategic dialogue between Baghdad and Washington in the interests of the two countries in establishing a prosperous and balanced relationship in all areas of security, military, cultural and academic.

 

On the other hand, the importance of the participation of the Kurdistan minority representative in the Iraqi-American dialogue as a constitutional territory within the framework of the federal state was stressed.

 

The US ambassador reiterated his country's support for the continuation of dialogue between KRG and Baghdad in order to reach an agreement on outstanding issues after the ratification of the federal budget law through agreement between the two sides.

 

The US delegation and the US Consul General in Erbil praised the role of Qubad Talabani and the regional government on continuing dialogue with Baghdad and called for resolving all problems with the same mechanism and through dialogue.
