Efforts to open popular markets in Kurdistan Region to promote the local product

The Ministry of Agriculture of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and the Kurdistan Parliament are trying to pass a bill to allow the opening of popular markets to promote the marketing of local products.
A parliament member affirmed to PUKmedia that those kind of markets promote and introduce the benefits ad importance of the local product and separate the local products from the imported ones.
"We in the Agriculture Committee in the Kurdistan Parliament and the related Ministry in the KRG are working to pass a bill to allow the opening of popular markets officially," MP Osman Sedary, member of Agriculture Committee in Kurdistan Parliament, told PUKmedia.
"This bill will encourage farmers of Kurdistan to produce more products while being sure that their products will be sold," he added.
MP Osman pointed out that such markets show the importance of the local product and separate them from the imported ones for citizens to differentiate between these two products.
