Aboul Gheit arrives in Erbil

Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the Arab League, has arrived in the Kurdistan Region's capital Erbil on Saturday evening and he is scheduled to meet officials in the Kurdistan Region on Tuesday.

 

After meeting Iraqi officials in Baghdad earlier on Saturday, Aboul Gheit has arrived in Erbil International Airport to meet with Kurdish officials tomorrow.

 

Meeting with the Iraqi Prime Minister

 

During meeting with Aboul Gheit, the federal Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi affirmed Iraq's support for initiatives to end the conflict in Yemen, and support for Lebanon to overcome its difficult circumstances, as well as support for Syria's return to the Arab League and the encouragement of internal dialogue in it.

 

The media office of the Prime Minister said that during the meeting they also discussed the latest developments on the regional and international arenas and various current Arab issues.

 

For his part, the Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, affirmed that the League's foundation is keen to support Iraq in its lofty endeavors.
