Kurdistan Presidency and political parties affirm necessity of unity

On Thursday, the Kurdistan Region Presidency described the vote on the federal financial budget as a positive step for developing relations between the Kurdistan Region and the federal government.

 

According to the presidential statement, after the leaders of the political parties and forces met in the presence of Bafel Talabani, the co-leader of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan and other party heads.

 

The meeting with leaders of political parties in the Kurdistan Region dealt with developments in the Kurdistan Region, Iraq and the region, foreign relations and the visit of Nechirvan Barzani, Kurdistan Region's President to France, the role of the Kurdistan region in new political balances, relations between Erbil-Baghdad, the strategic dialogue between the United States and Iraq with the participation and role of the Kurdistan Region, the Iraqi elections, the internal conditions and relations between the components and political parties.

 

"The political parties and forces emphasized the need for unity, harmony, and discussions among themselves to solve problems, as the meeting described the vote on the financial budget law, as a positive step for developing relations between the Kurdistan Region and the federal government, wishing to implement the provisions of the law and its positive reflection on living conditions for citizens, and to pave the way for solving problems between the two sides according to the principles of the constitution and within the federal system," the presidential statement added.

 

The meeting also stressed that the current conditions in the Kurdistan Region and the guarantee of constitutional rights, protection of gains and steps towards a better future, a sense of responsibility and joint action, harmony, unity, and the emphasis on the importance of the process of reforms and work to improve the living conditions of citizens, and protect freedoms and expression of opinion.
