Qubad Talabani, James Thornton discuss KRG-Baghdad relations

Erbil, Wednesday, The Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, Qubad Talabani, during a meeting with the British Consul General in Erbil James Thornton discussed the relations between the region and Baghdad and the latest developments in the federal budget.


During the meeting, the British Consul praised the role of the Kurdistan Region and the negotiating delegation for the region for its efforts to pass the General Budget Law for 2021, hoping that relations between Erbil and Baghdad would witness better development.


For his part, Qubad Talabani said that passing the budget law was through the efforts of all parties and a good experience to solve all outstanding problems through dialogue and understanding.


Talabani added that after approving the budget, the Kurdistan Regional Government has now taken a good step in preparing the draft budget law, and thus we will be more devoted to the steps towards more reforms, implementation of economic projects and diversification of sources of revenue.
