Qubad Talabani calls on Baghdad and Erbil to commit to implementing 2021 budget law articles

Wednesday, April 7th, the Kurdistan Regional Council of Ministers held a regular meeting chaired by Masrour Barzani and Qubad Talabani, deputy PM of the Kurdistan Regional Government.

 

At the beginning of the meeting, the head of the Government of Kurdistan province, highlighted the vote of the House of Representatives on the fiscal budget law of 2021, praising the efforts of the negotiating delegation, which has accomplished its tasks distinctly, pointing out that the share of Kurdistan Region in the federal budget, right within the constitution, stressing that the government of Kurdistan Region is committed to the articles of the law and called on the federal government in turn to abide by it.

 

The meeting also discussed the continuation of the process of reforms and work to increase revenues and reduce expenditures towards the provision of salaries of employees and the development of the economy in Kurdistan province.

 

For his part, Qubad Talabani, deputy PM of the Kurdistan Regional Government, and head of the negotiating delegation to Baghdad, highlighted the negotiations in Baghdad, praising the role of the members of the delegation, calling on the federal government and the government of Kurdistan Region to abide by the instructions issued later to implement the paragraphs of the fiscal budget law of 2021, pointing out that the negotiating delegation stressed during its meetings with officials in Baghdad, to abide by the constitution to ensure the financial dues of the Kurdistan Region. 

 

In another paragraph of the meeting, Planning Minister Dara Rashid discussed the first draft of the 2021 Kurdistan Regional budget, saying the project would be ready soon.

 

At the end of the meeting, it was stressed that citizens should abide by preventive measures against Corona virus, coinciding with the increasing number of virus infections.
