The Peoples Democratic Party (HDP), Turkey's ruling party, has been accused of attempting to create a danger based on a worthless event.

The HDP refused to classify the joint statement, which was signed by 103 retired Marine Corps generals, as a "coup".

Commenting on the statement defending the Montreux Convention and rejecting some religious manifestations in the military, the Kurdish party said that the authority with a black record of the coup d'état in the country is trying to create the risk of a coup d'état from just a written statement.

In his statement, the Democratic Peoples said that various coups or coup attempts, whether civil or military, had resulted in violent and severe collapses, and that the party's position was clear in the face of coup attempts aimed at democracy and freedoms.

According to the statement, the ruling party pretends to be facing a threat of military coup, stressing that its reaction is nothing but political exploitation of the scene and the use of the statement of a group of retired military personnel.

The Kurdish party stressed that the solution lies in building a strong democracy and achieving true justice.

In the same vein, the CHP spokesman said that the AKP did not miss any opportunity to take on the role of victim, following recent allegations that Turkey was undergoing a new coup attempt.

Oztrac explained that these officers are expressing their views, stressing that the topic of concern to Turkey at the moment should not be this statement.

Last Saturday, 103 retired generals issued a joint statement following controversy in Turkish public opinion over the statements of the speaker of parliament, Mustafa Shantoub, about the president's right to withdraw from any agreement, even if Montreux were to be elected.

The statement said that the Montreux Convention is not only an agreement regulating the transit of Turkish straits, but also a major diplomatic victory complementary to the Lausanne Agreement and restoring turkey all its sovereign rights in the Straits of Istanbul, Shanq Qala and the Sea of Marmara.
