On Monday, the Sulaymaniyah Health Directorate inaugurated a new reception unit at Shahid Hemin Hospital to provide health services to people infected with coronavirus 24 hours during the 7 days of the week.

Dr. Sabah Nasredin, Director-General of Sulaymaniyah Health Directorate, said during a press conference that this new unit will provide great services to those infected with coronavirus in terms of the necessary laboratory tests, the necessary treatment, and health instructions.

"We call on citizens to adhere to health instructions, and we call on the Sulaymaniyah governorate administration and the security services to tighten preventive measures, and any citizen who feels any symptoms of infection can review the unit at Shahid Hemin Hospital," he said.

He pointed out that the Corona vaccine proportion in Sulaymaniyah Governorate is not sufficient to fully cover all citizens but the amount that reached the city was fairly distributed and used, calling on citizens to continue to follow the health instructions.

The rate of infection with the coronavirus has dramatically hiked in the Kurdistan Region recently which prompt the Kurdistan Region's government to take more precautionary measures including closing schools, mosques, and crowded places.

So far, the Kurdistan Region has recorded over 125,000 coronavirus cases with more than 111,000 recoveries and over 3,700 death cases from the virus.
