Coronavirus vaccination starts in Kurdistan Region's Halabja

On Monday, the Prevention Directorate in Halabja announced the start of the vaccination process with the coronavirus vaccine in the governorate.

 

Akram Muhammad, the head of the Directorate, told PUKmedia that the registration of the names of those wishing to receive the vaccine in Halabja began today.

 

He explained that a medical committee first examines the registered persons and then decides to vaccinate them.

 

"The health personnel in Halabja Governorate will first receive the vaccine because of their direct contact with the infected," he added.

 

The General Directorate of Health in Halabja, on Sunday, announced the arrival of a new batch of Covid-19 Vaccines.

 

A new batch of Covid vaccine arrived in the governorate today, explaining that the vaccine is of the "AstraZeneca" type, Dr. Shanaz Naqshbandi, spokeswoman for Halabja Health Directorate said

 

She added that health personnel, the elderly, and victims of the chemical bombing in Halabja will receive the vaccine first.

 

Halabja Governorate had recorded 29 coronavirus infections this week, including 6 hospitalized and one unstable case.
