Salary disbursement resumes for political prisoners in Kurdistan Region

The Committee of Martyrs, Genocide and Political Prisoners Affairs in the Parliament of Kurdistan Region announced the resumption of the disbursement of the granting of a section of political prisoners.
Kurdsat News quoted a member of the committee deputy Hazhan Hassan as saying that the number of ex-political prisoners is 18 thousand, 5 thousand of them received salaries from the regional government for a period of 10 years.
"The Kurdistan Regional Government decided to review the lists of ex-political prisoners after the end of the grant period, according to the law.
800 political prisoners do not have any salaries, so after completing the legal procedures, their grants will be disbursed, starting next month, Hassan added.
