The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Saturday in a statement said that the Iraqi government reaffirms its support to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan under the leadership of King Abdullah II.

The ministry stated that is supports any measures adopted by King Abdullah to preserve the security and stability of the country and the interests of the brotherly Jordanian people, in a way that ensures their active presence and the sovereignty of the State.

"We express hope that Jordan achieves more progress and prosperity in facing challenges, so that the brotherly Jordanian people will have what they deserve under their wise leadership, and we affirm that the security and stability of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan is part of the security and stability of Iraq," the statement added.

Jordan’s neighbors and allies reacted with statements of support after the Jordanian military said on Saturday that King Abdullah’s half-brother and former Crown Prince Hamza bin Hussein had been told to halt actions used to target the country’s “security and stability”.
