Google, Facebook, Twitter CEOs will face US lawmakers again

Members of the US House of Representatives are expected to grill the executives about the spread of misinformation on their platforms, a hot topic during the pandemic and election season.
Leaders of Facebook, Twitter and Google will return to the congressional hot seat on Thursday to discuss misinformation and disinformation on their platforms.
It's not the first time that Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey and Google CEO Sundar Pichai have been grilled by lawmakers about how they moderate content, but the coronavirus pandemic and the 2020 election have put a brighter spotlight on the topic. The virtual hearing comes as US lawmakers consider new regulation that could put more pressure on online platforms to do a better job of combating lies.
