Mrs. Galawezh mourns the departure of the writer Nawal El Saadawi

Mrs. Galawezh Salih mourned the departure of the Egyptian writer Dr. Nawal El-Saadawi, describing her departure as a great loss.

 

The text of the obituary read:

 

With great sadness and sorrow, on Sunday, the activist and defender of human rights and women in particular, Nawal El-Saadawi, left to her final resting place.

 

Although she was a doctor, Nawal El-Saadawi devoted her life and a large part of her products to human rights and equality between men and women, so she was known in the Arab world and among Kurdish intellectuals, and the world, as a writer, researcher and defender of women's rights. She is the author of dozens of books in the fields of thought, research, novel and literature, each of which is a precious treasure that express the deep thought of their writer, a 90 years old writer who will always remain a bright star in  the sky of thought of progress and a brave and courageous nonconformist in the human equality movement.

 

The departure of Nawal El-Saadawi is a great loss to all the liberals, but her name will stay eternal. Her results will remain a source for dozens of research and analysis. It is impossible to talk in the Arab community and the region about gender equality without referring to Nawal El-Saadawi.

 

Several years ago, this Egyptian and Arab lady visited Kurdistan and came to the city of Sulaymaniyah, the city of thought and the capital of culture, and thus she approached the Kurdish intellectuals, so her departure constitutes the deep regret and sadness of a large part of the enlightened and Kurdish researchers.

 

Goodbye, Nawal El-Saadawi, sleep reassured, that the convoy of progressive humanitarian thought will reach its goals.
