Russian Military Police conducts patrol in Syria’s Derik

On Wednesday, Russian Military Police conducted a military patrol in Derik, in the far northeast of Syria.
Local sources from Ain Diwar village, north of Derik, told North Press that a Russian patrol arrived in the village and headed to the Roman Bridge on the Turkish border before returning to its base in Qamishli.
The patrol consisted of four armored vehicles with two helicopters providing air cover.
On Tuesday, US armored vehicles conducted a military patrol in the country side of Derik, according to local sources.
Recently, the Russian police has intensified its patrols in Derik in an attempt to establish a military post in the region amid protests by residents.
