International Federation honors renowned Kurdish artist Anwar Qaradaghi

The (International Federation of Arab Musicians) is scheduled to hold an honorary ceremony for the Kurdish artist Anwar Qardaghi during a solemn ceremony.

 

The Kurdish artist, Anwar Qaradaghi, said during a special statement to PUKmedia, on Tuesday that Dr. Ammar Shukry, President of the (International Federation of Arab Musicians) contacted him and informed him of their admiration for his artwork, and that the federation wanted to honor him, indicating that he informed them of his acceptance of the honor.

 

Qaradaghi said: "Thankfully, the General Directorate of the Amna Suraka Nationa Museum Sulaymaniyah  have prepared the Yilmaz Guney Hall with all the necessary supplies to properly conduct the ceremony at."

 

The artist, Anwar Qaradaghi, indicated that the ceremony will begin with a speech by Dr. Ammar Shukri, pointing out that he will be given an honorary shield and a certificate, and a number of music pieces will be played by musical groups.

 

The ceremony will start at 4 pm (local time) next Thursday at the Yilmaz Guney hall in the Amna Suraka National Museum in Sulaymaniyah.

 

The Kurdish artist Anwar Qaradaghi was born in 1946 in Halabja. He is the founder of the Institute of Fine Arts in Sulaymaniyah, the founder of Khoshi, Bakhtyari, and Hiwa Music groups, as well as Samawah Education Directorate's Music group. He was also a member of the founding board of the Sulaymaniyah Acting and Music team and served as head of the Music Department at the University of Sulaymaniyah.

 

Qaradaghi participated in many festivals, as well as participation in the first art festival for the Kurds in Baghdad, and in 1998 he became a consultant for technical matters in the KRG's Ministry of Culture and continues his artworks to this day.
