KRG delegation to visit Baghdad tomorrow: Source

A delegation from the Kurdistan Regional Government will head tomorrow, Sunday, to the federal capital Baghdad to discuss the issue of fixing the Kurdistan Region’s share of the federal budget bill for 2021, on which the Iraqi Council of Representatives will vote in the near future, an informed source, who preferred not to be named told PUKmedia.
According to the information available to PUKmedia, the delegation will head tomorrow evening to the Baghdad.
The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan bloc in the Iraqi Council of Representatives last week, on Monday called on Baghdad and Erbil governments to agree to resolve problems and improve the living conditions of citizens.
During a press conference, MP Aala Talabani, head of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan bloc, in the presence of the representatives of the bloc, asked the Kurdistan Regional Government to fulfill its commitment according to the draft federal budget law for 2021.
"The federal government must assume its responsibilities to solve problems, provide social justice, and ensure the Kurdistan Region’s share of the federal budget," Talabani said.
The Iraqi Government and the KRG been in dispute over the region's share of financial dues.
Last December Qubad Talabani, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region reached an agreement with the Iraqi Government after two weeks of negotiations between both delegations.
