Media outlets report missile attack near Baghdad airport
Iraq 11:06 AM - 2021-01-23.
Arab media outlets reported that at least three missiles landed near Baghdad International Airport on Saturday early morning.
Unconfirmed reports suggest the intended target was possibly the Victory Base Complex hosting US military personnel.
There have been no immediate reports of casualties or significant material damage. Iraqi authorities have yet to confirm the incident or provide details on the nature of the explosion.
Al-Arabiya Al-Hadath channel said that a large security operation was launched to search for the missile launcher
The American Victory Base had launched a C-RAM air defense system at the end of last year, in conjunction with tight security measures around the Green Zone and the airport.
