Despite reaching the age of 73, a citizen of Sulaymaniyah, Rauf Abdul Aziz, is still practicing his favorite hobby of collecting folkloric and heritage items after nearly 28 years.

Abdul Aziz told PUKmedia that his exhibition contains about 12,000 pieces of heritage objects, one of which is a helmet dating back to the era of the Kurdish leader Salah al-Din al-Ayyubi.

He says that gathering and collecting heritage materials is not a difficult issue, and that he searches for these pieces in several places and regions to collect and display them in his shop.

Abdul Aziz uses his hobby as a way to make his living where he buys pieces from certain markets and then sells at his shop.

He works at his store from eight in the morning until five in the evening (local time) on a daily basis.

He pointed out that citizens and people who are fans of collecting historic pieces and folkloric objects visit his exhibition to buy heritage pieces, while others visit it to see them only.

One of the rare and old pieces that exist in his shop is a warrior helmet which dates back to the era of the Kurdish leader Salah al-Din al-Ayyubi who was was a Sunni Kurd and the first sultan of Egypt and Syria and founder of the Ayyubid dynasty from 1174 to 1193.
