Airstrikes pound Kataib Hezbollah sites south of Baghdad, Iraqi Security Media Cell denies

On Monday evening, Al-Hurra TV reported that there had been three explosions in the Jurf al-Sakhar sub-district, southwest of the Iraqi capital, Baghdad.

 

Al-Hurra quoted unnamed sources as saying that the explosions took place inside Kataib Hezbollah sites and caused the death and injury of several fighters, while other sources reported that at least one explosion took place inside an army headquarters, killing nine soldiers and wounding no less than 10.

 

US Central Command (CENTCOM)  spokesman denied any knowledge of the implementation of airstrikes in the area.

 

The command said it was not aware “of any strikes in Iraq,” according to a Reuters reporter in Washington.

 

Meanwhile, the Iraqi Security Media Cell announced that the electrical power transmission towers in Babil Governorate had been attacked and fought by ISIS terrorists, denying that the security forces had suffered any attacks in the region.

 

The cell said in a statement on Tuesday, that media outlets and social networking sites circulated incorrect news regarding the attacks on security forces in the northern Babil governorate on Monday night.

 

Explaining that a number of electric power transmission towers in the Al-Bahbahani area, north of Babil Governorate, were attacked and sabotaged by ISIS terrorist gangs, and some interpreted them as bombing warplanes.
