Finance Committee rejects deduction in employee salaries in Iraq's 2021 budget bill: MP

The Finance Committee in the Iraqi Council of Representatives rejected the deduction in the salaries of the employees in the 2021 Iraqi budget bill and suggested other options that are to be voted by the Council.
A member of the committee and MP of the PUK bloc in the Iraqi Council of Representatives Shirwan Mirza, told PUKmedia on Monday, that several options have been proposed regarding the deduction of employees' salaries that the federal government have decided to implement in the 2021 Budget bill, and among these options is the rejection of deductions in the salaries of the employees and an attempt to activate law Tax No. 113, adding that if it is not approved, at that time the deduction rate will be small.
Mirza indicated that the discussions on the draft budget bill are continuing by the Finance Committee, and ministries will be invited to the committee's meetings to discuss the bill.
Regarding the date of ratification of the 2021 draft budget bill, MP Shirwan Mirza added that the work of the Finance Committee will end this week and then prepare the legal draft to be voted during the next session of Council next week, which will be focusing on the approval of the budget bill.
