Kurdish kid wins first place in Canadian mathematics competition

A Kurdish student from North Kurdistan won the first place in the world in the Caribou International Mathematics Competition held in Canada.

 

The Kurdish student Yusef Ayman Valijaoglu competed in the competition with 2,557 students worldwide. He is 8 years old, and he is studying at the “Martyr Salah El-Din” primary school in Hakkari state, northern Kurdistan.

 

He was able to answer all the questions of the "Caribou" competition, which is based in Canada.

 

Valijaoglu said that he consulted his father to enter the competition, so he agreed and thus participated in it and answered all questions, and became the first.

 

As for his father, Orhan Valijaoglu, he said: Yusef is very good at mathematics, and when we supported him, he achieved this success. we are very happy. We are proud of him.”

 

Raceb Savaş, Yusef’s teacher, commented on his success, saying: Yusef is very successful in mathematics lessons. He is a special boy.
