Dilkhosh Abdullah: Female bodybuilder in Kurdistan Region's Raparin

"Every sport has its own benefit and pleasure. Each person can choose a sport according to his/her own desires and for me, bodybuilding was my desire," this is what Kurdish woman, Dilkhosh Abdullah, said.

 

Dilkhosh, who is one of the female bodybuilders in the Raparin Region of the Kurdish Region, was born in 1991 in Raniya town, 127.1 km northwest of Sulaymaniyah city. She began training to become a bodybuilder in 2016.

 

Although traditions and culture are one of the obstacles before females in sports, but as Dilkhosh says: "We have to be able to eliminates the obstacles, because sports is very normal and it is important for every person must place some time for it."

 

Dilkhosh also works as a fitness trainer  and helps other women and girls to get fit and be confident in their bodies. She also have trained many women who later become bodybuilders. Dilkhosh does her trainings with great enthusiasm and is in competition to gain good titles and does her bodybuilding program in terms of training and food very well.

 

Despite the lack of support, Dilkhosh never backed down and continued her sport because, as she says, she believes in her ability to continue and win even if she does not receive any support.
