Hydraulic bridge construction as part of the Baban Autobahn project in Sulaymaniyah

The Qaiwan Group, implementing the 100-meter Baban Autobahn project in Sulaymaniyah, announced on Thursday, the construction of a hydraulic bridge within the project.

 

Qaiwan Group said in a statement that the completion rate of the 100-meter Baban Road project in Sulaymaniyah has entered a good stage, indicating that the project, after the completion of the cutting and filling parts, includes the construction of a hydraulic bridge in the Tanjaro area, which was launched early this year 2021.

 

The statement indicated that the bridge is located on the Tanjaro River in the Qardagh area,  in the direction of Arbat area in Sulaymaniyah Governorate, indicating that the bridge will include two directions for vehicles and with 9 lanes in each direction.

 

Tanjaro River arises near the city Sulaymaniyah through the confluence of the rivers Kiliasan and Kani-Ban and flows into the Darbandikhan Dam, 68.5 km southeast of Sulaymaniyah city.

 

According to the statement, the total cost allocated for the bridge amounts to 72 billion Iraqi dinars, and it is scheduled to be completed within 6 months, noting that the current stage of the project includes the construction of the pillars.

 

On the work stages of the 100-meter Baban Autobahn project, the company clarified during the statement that work is continuing on the project, the first phase of the project, which is 32 kilometers of cutting, filling and the construction of arches.

 

The foundation stone of the 100-meter Baban Autobahn project was laid on July 11 of last year 2020 by the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani and Qubad Talabani, Deputy Prime Minister of the Regional Government, and the project is scheduled to be completed within a period of 3 years at a total cost of 400 billion Iraqi dinars.

 

According to the design of the project, the road will be 146 kilometers long and completed in 3 stages. The first stage, which is currently in progress, stretches from the Tasluja bridge to the Arbat-Sulaymaniyah road, while the second stage will connect the Arbat road to a tunnel through Goizha Mountain, and the third stage will run from behind Goizha Mountain to the Sulaymaniyah-Dukan road.
