Kirkuk hosts Short Films Festival

The activities of the second Kirkuk Film Festival for Short Films are scheduled to begin in the city of Kirkuk this week.
The festival, which is being held by the Kirkuk Foundation for Culture and Arts with the Kurdistan Relief Society and Al Kitab University, will take place on next Wednesday and Thursday.
Sardar Rashid Zangana, the festival’s coordinator, told PUKmedia that 13 films (documentary, fictional, animation) will be shown during the festival, which will be held at the Cultural Center in Kirkuk, and films will be selected by the festival’s jury to win the festival’s prizes, explaining that three of the films participating in the festival are Kurdish movies.
Sardar Zangana indicated that 96 films reached the festival’s Supreme Committee from Arab countries, France and Britain, where 13 films were screened among these films to participate in the festival’s competitions.
It is noteworthy that the first Kirkuk Film Festival was held last year via video (online).
