Series of explosions target liquor stores in Baghdad

The Iraqi capital, Baghdad, has witnessed a series of explosions targeting shops selling alcoholic drinks in separate areas,  the Iraqi Security Media Cell announced on Tuesday.

 

The cell said in a statement that the Directorate of Explosives Control was able to treat an improvised explosive device in the area of ​​the Police Tunnel - Doctors Street, and another bomb exploded in the same area, both were placed next to a store selling alcoholic drinks, adding that a homemade explosive device exploded in the Dora area- 60 Street, in front of another shop selling alcoholic drinks and another home-made explosive device exploded next to a shop selling alcoholic drinks in the Amiriya area.

 

The statement also indicated a sticky bomb attached to a citizen's car in the Al-Adl neighborhood has exploded. The car owner is an employee in a private company.

 

According to the statement no casualties was reported, the explosions left only material damage.

 

The cell did not mension anything about the perpetrators.
