PUK welcomes assignment of al-Zurfi to form new Iraqi govt.

The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan welcomed the appointment of Adnan al-Zurfi, to form the new Iraqi government, PUK spokesman said.


A spokesman for the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Amin Baba Sheikh, said in a statement on Tuesday that "the Patriotic Union welcomes the assignment of Adnan al-Zurfi to form the new government as a constitutional entitlement."


"We will consult with the Kurdish and other powers to unify the situation, and emphasize the need to support the reforms required to serve citizens and meet their rights, and ensure constitutional rights for the Kurdistan Region and confront the grave challenges that are facing Iraq," the spokesman said.
