Iraqi President arrives in Erbil, meets with Kurdish leaders

Thursday, Barham Salih, President of the Republic of Iraq, arrived in Kurdistan Region’s capital, Erbil, to discus some important urgent matters with the Kurdish leaders, meeting Masoud Barzani, Head of the Democratic Party of Kurdistan, came first in series of his meetings.


“The main purpose of the President’s visit to KRG and his meeting with Masoud Barzani,  Leader of the Democratic Party of Kurdistan, and Nechirvan Barzani, President of the Kurdistan region is to discuss the current situation in Iraq and KRG.” A source close to the Iraqi President told PUKmedia.


The souce added that the president’s visit also aims to discuss the formation of the new Iraqi government, after the appointment of Mohammed Allawi as Iraq’s new PM, and the relations between KRG and Iraqi government and ways to develop and enhance the relation, and the participation of the Kurds in the new government.
