Iraqi President appoints Mohammed Tawfiq Allawi as new PM

Saturday, The Iraqi President Barham Salih appointed Mohammed Tawfiq Allawi as new Prime Minister.


Allawi said in televised interview that the Iraqi President has officially instructed him to form a government, calling on the demonstrators to continue their demonstrations, stressing that he does not deserve the position if he does not fulfill the demands of the demonstrators.


He also stated that he would resign if political blocs sought to impose candidates for different ministries.
