President of the Republic addresses Council of Representatives to determine the largest bloc

The President of the Republic, Dr. Barham Ahmed Salih wrote a letter to the Presidency of the Parliament on Monday, requesting that he be briefed on the largest parliamentary blocs to appoint the Prime Minister.

 

The President of the Republic stated in the letter, "Prime Minister Adil Abdel-Mahdi submitted his resignation to the Council of Representatives, which in turn accepted the resignation, which necessitates a return to Article 76 / First: The President of the Republic assigns the largest parliamentary bloc to form the cabinet within fifteen days ... For the purpose of assigning a new candidate to form the Council of Ministers, please inform us of the largest bloc."

 

For his part, Salar Muhammad, Adviser of the President of the Republic, said during a special statement to PUKmedia that "The President of the Republic directed the letter to the Presidency of the Council of Representatives and is awaiting the response of the Council of Representatives."
