A delegation from the Kurdistan Regional Government is scheduled to visit the federal capital Baghdad during the next week to discuss resolving the outstanding problems between the federal and regional governments.


The Council of Ministers of the Kurdistan Region, on Wednesday, held a meeting to discuss a number of economic files.


A statement issued by the Kurdistan Regional Government on Wednesday said: The delegation will visit Baghdad next week to discuss the 2020 budget and invite three parliamentary committees "Finance, Oil and Gas and Legal" in the Council of Representatives to visit the Kurdistan Region, in addition to the formation of a committee to evaluate the mechanism of the 2020 Population census and view the observations of Kurdistan.


He added: It was decided that a delegation from the Kurdistan Regional Government to visit Baghdad next week to discuss and exchange information on the files of the financial budget and involving the region in the preparation of the draft project by the Federal Ministry of Finance, and directing an invitation to the parliamentary committees of finance, oil and gas, and legal to visit the region .


The statement pointed out that, during the meeting it was agreed that a delegation from the Kurdistan Regional Government will meet with the Parliament of the region on Thursday (September 12) to discuss the latest developments in the relations between the federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government.


The statement pointed out that during the meeting, the Minister of Planning in the Kurdistan Region presented a report on the census project to be conducted in Iraq in 2020, as the Minister highlighted the aspects of the project and the preparations of the Kurdistan region in this field, and in this light, the Council of Ministers decided to form a special committee to evaluate the census project.
