The PUK holds its General Congress on 7/12/2019

The leadership council of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) decided during its meeting on Saturday, 7/9/2019, to set a date for the general Congress of the party.


Latif Sheikh Omar, spokesman for the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), said in a press conference: "The PUK leadership council decided during its meeting on Saturday to hold the party's general Congress on 7/12/2019", pointing out that the leadership council instructed the Supreme Committee to continue its preparations to hold the Congress on time.


He added: "The Council also discussed during the meeting the situation in Iraq, Kurdistan and Kirkuk and the disputed areas and appropriate decisions were taken on those files", pointing out that the meeting also discussed the election of the governor of Kirkuk and the agreement with the Kurdistan Democratic Party in this regard.


He explained that the Supreme Committee of the Congress will continue its work in cooperation with the sub-committees to end preparations for the Congress on time.
