Examining Yasin Tapa hill continues

The Sulaymaniyah Museum Administration announced on Saturday, August 31, the continuation of exploring and examining of the Yassin Tapa hill in Shahrizor district of Sulaymaniyah province.


Hashem Hama Abdullah, Director of the Sulaymaniyah Museum, told PUKmeida: "The Governor of Sulaymaniyah, Haval Abu Bakr and the Director of the Sulaymaniyah Antiquities, Kamal Rashid Rahim accompanied us today to visit the site of "Yasin Tapa hill" in Shahrizor", explaining that a Japanese team under the supervision of Dr. Shin Nishiyama continues the exploration and examination of the site.


He added: "Yasin Tapa hill dates back to the first millennium BC, pointing out that the results of the examination will be announced after completion."


He confirmed that the relics at the site would be handed over to the Sulaymaniyah museum.
