The PUK announces the date of its general conference

The meeting of the Political Bureau of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) which was held on Monday 29/7/2019 has ended.

 

Spokesman of the PUK, Latif Sheikh Omer said during a press conference that the meeting discussed the situation in the Kurdistan region and Iraq, stressing the convening of the fourth general conference of the PUK at the end of this year.

 

Sheikh Latif said no date had been set for holding the conference, but talking had been made on holding it before the end of the year.

 

He explained that the aim of holding the General Conference of the PUK is two things, reviewing the policies and the formulation of the policy and regulations of the new program for the party and leadership elections.

 

On the normalization of the situation in Kirkuk and provincial elections, the spokesman for the PUK said that everything related to Kirkuk was discussed and decided about during the meeting.

 

He also added that the Patriotic Union wants the Kurdistan Regional Government to have a healthy relationship with the Fedral Government and that the PUK will work to strengthen that relationship.
