Khanaqin .. all components demanding the application of Article 140

The people of the city of Khanaqin, the federal and provincial governments, demanded the application of Article 140 of the Iraqi Constitution, pointing out that they launched a campaign to collect signatures for this purpose.

 

On Friday, July 12 of 2019, Sheikh Muzahim al-Hewitt, a spokesman for the Arab tribes in the disputed areas, said in a special statement to PUKmedia: A committee was formed by the people of Khanaqin district of Kurds, Arabs, nationalities and sects to collect all signatures demanding the government of Baghdad and Erbil to implement Article 140 of the Iraqi constitution.

 

He added that the Arab tribes demand the implementation of Article 140 being a constitutional and legal material, indicating that it is the right of the people of all regions of the spectrum to demand their rights as they are day after day subjected to injustice and violations, calling on the federal government to solve problems in the disputed areas

 

For his part, Samir Mohammad Nur, head of the municipal council for the province of Khanaqin said in a statement to PUKmedia: A voluntary committee called "Land of Love and Peace" called on the local government in Khanaqin to collect signatures to demand the implementation of Article 140 of the Iraqi Constitution, noting that the local government in Khanaqin agreed On the demand of the Commission because it is in the interest of the Kurds and the rest of the city.
